How to Take Your Own Measurements for a Perfect Fit
All you need is a flexible measuring tape, a mirror, and ideally a friend to help with the shoulder and back measurements. Wear close-fitting clothing so the tape sits against your body, stand naturally with your weight even on both feet, and keep the tape level and snug with room for one finger. Below is every measurement we may ask for. You do not have to get each number perfect: we send a free test garment before cutting your final cloth, so the fit is confirmed on your body first.

How do I measure my bust, waist and length for a custom garment?
Use a flexible tape. For the bust, wrap it around the fullest part with the tape level. For the waist, measure the narrowest part, usually just above the belly button. For length, measure from the shoulder or natural waist down to your desired hem. Keep the tape level and snug with room for one finger, and measure over close-fitting clothing rather than bulky layers.
How do I measure my waist, hips, thighs and rise?

What do I need to measure myself?

How tight should the measuring tape be?

That is exactly why we send a free test garment. Give us your best measurements, and we build a test version in a stand-in cloth to your numbers and ship it to you. You try it on, we adjust from there, and nothing is cut in your final fabric until the fit is confirmed.

The trousers skim your hips and thigh cleanly, with no pulling or horizontal strain lines. This is exactly where off-the-rack fails and custom-made tailoring wins, because the hip is cut independently of the waist.
Rise
The rise, how high the trouser sits from crotch to waistband, is cut to you, so a high-rise sits at the natural waist without pulling and a mid-rise sits just below. Tell us your preference.

You choose the length: a full break resting on the shoe, a light break with a single soft fold, or a clean cropped ankle. Every hem is cut to your leg and your shoe height.

The doubts most women have, and why you can relax
Trousers never fit my waist and my hips at the same time. Am I just an awkward shape?
You are not, ready-to-wear is the problem, not your body. Off-the-rack trousers are cut to one fixed waist-to-hip ratio, so if yours is different, either the waist gapes or the hips pull, no matter which size you buy. We cut your waist and your hip independently to your own measurements, so both fit at once, and the free test garment proves it on your body before the final pair is made. A great many of our customers have spent years thinking they were the problem; they were not.
My trousers always gape at the back waist. Will this fix it?
Yes, directly. Back-gape is the classic sign of a waist cut too big relative to your hips. Because we cut the waistband to your actual waist, it sits flat against your back with no gap, even when you sit down, and you confirm exactly that on the free test garment before we cut your final cloth.
I have never bought trousers I could not try on first. How do I know they will fit?
Because you do try them on first. We make a free test pair in a stand-in cloth to your measurements and post it to you. You put them on, sit down, walk, check the waist, rise, hips, and length, and send us notes and photos. Only once you are happy do we cut your final fabric, so the finished trousers are a fit you have already approved.
I am between sizes and always end up altering everything. Will this be any different?
Completely, because there are no sizes to fall between. You send your measurements, we cut to them exactly, and the free test garment confirms the fit, so you receive trousers that are already right rather than a compromise you have to pay a tailor to fix afterwards.
I am nervous I will measure the waist, hips, or rise wrong.
You do not have to be exact. Our guide walks you through each measurement, a friend or a local tailor can help, and if you are unsure you can send your best numbers. What if they arrive and something is still not right?
The final pair is cut to the exact fit you approved on the test garment, so surprises are rare by design.
