Women’s Measuring Guide
How to Take Your Own Measurements for a Perfect Fit
All you need is a flexible measuring tape, a mirror, and ideally a friend to help with the shoulder and back measurements. Wear close-fitting clothing so the tape sits against your body, stand naturally with your weight even on both feet, and keep the tape level and snug with room for one finger. Below is every measurement we may ask for. You do not have to get each number perfect: we send a free test garment before cutting your final cloth, so the fit is confirmed on your body first.
1
Bust circumference
Stand straight with your arms relaxed and wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust, keeping it level and snug with room for one finger.

Measure around the fullest part of your upper thigh, keeping the tape snug with room for one finger.

13
Jacket or back length

Measure from your natural waist for a skirt, or from the shoulder for a dress, down to your desired hem.

Questions & Answers
Frequently asked questions about measuring yourself
How do I measure my bust, waist and length for a custom garment?
Use a flexible tape. For the bust, wrap it around the fullest part with the tape level. For the waist, measure the narrowest part, usually just above the belly button. For length, measure from the shoulder or natural waist down to your desired hem. Keep the tape level and snug with room for one finger, and measure over close-fitting clothing rather than bulky layers.
How do I measure my waist, hips, thighs and rise?
Measure the waist at the narrowest point, the hips around the widest part of your hips and seat, and the thigh around the fullest part of the upper leg. For the rise, sit down and measure from the front of your natural waist, down between your legs to the seat. Keep the tape level and snug throughout.
Where can I get my measurements taken?
Any local tailor or seamstress can take your measurements in a few minutes, and many fabric or bridal shops offer measuring too. You can also measure yourself at home with a flexible tape using this guide, or have a friend help with the back and shoulder measurements. Because we send a free test garment before cutting your final cloth, the fit is confirmed on your body regardless of who takes the first measurements.
What do I need to measure myself?
Just a flexible measuring tape, a mirror, and ideally a friend to help with the shoulder and back measurements. Wear close-fitting clothing so the tape sits against your body, and stand naturally with your weight even on both feet.
How tight should the measuring tape be?
Snug but not tight. The tape should sit flat against your body with just enough room to slip one finger underneath. Pulling it too tight gives measurements that are too small, and leaving it loose makes the garment baggy.
What if my measurements are not perfect?
That is exactly why we send a free test garment. Give us your best measurements, and we build a test version in a stand-in cloth to your numbers and ship it to you. You try it on, we adjust from there, and nothing is cut in your final fabric until the fit is confirmed.

An off-white pinstripe suit is one of the most decisive things a woman can wear. Not the safest – that would be navy or black. But the most deliberate. The pale ground and bold black stripe together read as someone who chose this intentionally, who knew exactly what she was doing. The double-breasted silhouette adds authority. The wide-leg trouser adds proportion. When it fits correctly, this suit walks into a room and announces itself before you say a word.
Baron builds yours to your exact measurements, in Super 130s merino wool with a canvas front jacket, before we cut a single inch of the final cloth.
Super 130s Merino Wool Canvas Front Jacket Wide-Leg Trouser 8 Stripe Options Made to Your Measurements Free Test Suit First
The white pinstripe suit had a breakout moment at the 2025 Met Gala, where Zendaya wore a head-to-toe white tailored suit that dominated every best-dressed list. Leslie Bibb stepped out in a double-breasted pinstripe jacket with wide-leg trousers that made headlines for looking as formal as any gown. The Devil Wears Prada 2 has put power suiting back at the center of the cultural conversation – the office-chic styling throughout the film is exactly the aesthetic this suit delivers. The message from every direction: the suit is not a compromise for women. It is the destination.
Three Ways to Wear This Suit
The Full Power Look
Jacket buttoned, wide-leg trousers, a fitted white or black top underneath, heeled mules or pointed flats. This is the complete statement – the one for presentations, panels, or any room where you want to be remembered. The off-white ground and black stripe do the work; keep accessories clean and let the suit lead.
Jacket as a Separate
The double-breasted jacket worn open over a black bodysuit and fitted black trousers – or with dark jeans and heels for a work-to-evening transition. The wide peak lapels and the off-white fabric read as a statement blazer, not a costume. This is the look that made Leslie Bibb’s double-breasted pinstripe jacket a fashion moment rather than a boardroom uniform.
Relaxed Edit
The wide-leg trousers with a white fitted tee and sneakers, or with a silk blouse tucked in and flat sandals. The trouser’s bell cut means it hangs beautifully even without the jacket. The pinstripe is doing enough; the rest of the outfit can be relaxed. Zendaya’s approach to tailoring – sharp pieces worn with deliberate ease – works perfectly here.
Wedding or Formal Event
Off-white photographs exceptionally well. If you want to wear something other than a dress to your wedding, engagement shoot, rehearsal dinner, or a formal event where everyone else is in a gown – this suit is the answer. Pair with delicate gold jewelry, strappy heels, and let the suit be the dress.
Super 130s Merino Wool – What Makes It Work
Super 130s is a fineness grade for worsted wool – the higher the number, the finer the fiber and the smoother the hand. At this grade, the fabric has enough body to hold the double-breasted silhouette and keep the wide-leg trouser falling in a clean, unbroken line. It is fine enough to feel luxurious against the skin and move with the body rather than against it.
The off-white pinstripe default is the classic choice – the ground reads ivory rather than white, which is warmer and more flattering under most lighting. The same suit is available in seven other stripe options at the same price: black with red stripes, black with white rope stripes, blue with white rope stripes, charcoal with white rope stripes, grey with white rope stripes, grey with dark blue stripes, and light grey with pink stripes.

Who This Suit Is For
This suit is for the woman who has tried to find a version of this off-the-rack and knows it does not exist – not in this silhouette, not in this fabric, and definitely not in a fit that works for her specific body. It is for occasions where a dress would be too expected and a plain trouser suit would be too safe.
The Professional Who Wants to Stand Out
You present, lead, and represent at a level where what you wear is part of what you communicate. You have worn every version of the safe navy suit. This is the one that says you know the rules and you chose to dress beyond them. It reads authority and individuality at the same time.
The Bride or Wedding Guest
Off-white is wedding ivory. The double-breasted silhouette is architectural and photographs in a way that a dress rarely does – the strong shoulder, the wide leg, the clean lines. If you have ever thought ‘I do not want to wear a dress on my wedding day’, this is what you were picturing. Or as a guest, the suit that makes you unforgettable without competing.
The Event Dresser Who Is Done with Dresses
Galas, award ceremonies, charity dinners, film premieres. The women who turn heads at these events increasingly are not the ones in ball gowns. A white pinstripe double-breasted suit in the right room makes everyone else’s dress look ordinary. This is the choice of someone with confidence and taste.
The Woman Who Cannot Find Her Size Off the Rack
You have a long torso or short waist. The trousers that fit your hips are too big in the waist. Jackets that fit the shoulders are wrong everywhere else. Every Baron piece is drawn to your measurements from the start – not altered into approximation, but built correctly the first time.

Free Test Suit – Why It Matters Especially for This Silhouette
A double-breasted jacket has no margin for error. The wide peak lapels and the 4×2 button stance mean the jacket front is the entire visual statement – and if the shoulder is off, the chest is pulling, or the waist is sitting wrong, the whole silhouette collapses. The wide-leg trouser needs a precise rise and waist measurement to drape correctly. These are not problems you can solve with a belt or a safety pin.
Every Baron order begins with a complete test suit in an inexpensive cotton fabric, built to your measurements and shipped to you by trackable courier. You try it on at home. You tell us what needs adjusting – the shoulder width, the jacket length, the trouser rise, the hem. We fix every note in the pattern, then build your final suit in the wool. The test suit is yours to keep. This is the only honest guarantee we can make to a customer ordering from overseas.

Frequently Asked Questions
What occasions is a white pinstripe suit appropriate for?
This suit works across a wide range of formal and semi-formal occasions: office environments where you want to project authority and individuality, weddings as either the bride or a guest, formal dinners, galas, award ceremonies, film premieres, and networking events. Off-white is versatile – it reads bridal at a wedding, powerful at a boardroom presentation, and editorial at a creative event. It is not appropriate for very casual settings or outdoor summer events where white fabric would be impractical.
Can I wear this suit to my wedding instead of a dress?
Yes – and more brides are choosing this path. Off-white is the same color family as traditional bridal ivory. The double-breasted silhouette photographs beautifully – the strong shoulder line and wide-leg trouser create long, clean lines that read elegantly in both formal and candid shots. If you want something unconventional but still unmistakably bridal, this suit delivers that. You can request any lining color for a personal detail inside the jacket that only you know about.
What is the silhouette of the trousers?
Wide-leg with a bell cut – meaning the leg is straight or slightly flared from the knee downward, creating a contemporary, flowing silhouette. This trouser is intentionally fashion-forward rather than traditional. It pairs best with heeled mules, pointed flats, or heeled boots – shoes that give the leg length needed for the wide-leg proportion to work. The flat front and slanted pockets keep the waist clean and smooth. The trouser is cut to your hip, waist, inseam, and rise measurements, so the wide leg falls from your actual proportions rather than a generic block.
What does canvas front mean and why does it matter for women’s tailoring?
A canvas front means the jacket front is structured with a layer of hand-stitched woven interfacing rather than heat-fused glue. In women’s tailoring specifically, this makes a meaningful difference: the canvas front molds to the shape of your chest over time, the lapels develop a natural, soft roll that a fused front can never achieve, and the jacket drapes with a fluidity that makes it look more expensive and more fitted. Fused jackets – which most high-street brands use – start stiff and eventually delaminate with dry cleaning. A canvas front lasts the lifetime of the fabric.
How does the free test suit work?
You enter your measurements on this product page when placing your order. We build a complete test suit – jacket and trousers – in an inexpensive cotton fabric and ship it to you by trackable courier. You try it on at home, check the shoulder line, the double-breasted stance, the jacket length, the trouser rise, and the hem length, and tell us anything that needs adjusting. We update your pattern and then build your final suit in the Super 130s merino wool. The test suit is yours to keep at no extra charge. This is how we guarantee fit for customers ordering from anywhere in the world.
What stripe options are available and are they all the same price?
Eight options: Off-White With Black Bold Stripes (the default), Black With Red Pinstripes, Black With Bold White Rope Stripes, Blue With White Bold Rope Stripes, Charcoal With Bold White Rope Stripes, Grey With Bold White Rope Stripes, Grey With Dark Blue Bold Stripes, and Light Grey With Bold Pink Stripes. All are the same price. The off-white with black stripes is the most requested. The light grey with pink stripes is a popular choice for weddings. The charcoal with white rope stripes is the sharpest for formal corporate wear.
Can I order just the jacket or just the trousers separately?
This listing is for the full suit – jacket and trousers together. If you want the jacket as a standalone piece to wear with other trousers, message us before ordering and we can price accordingly. The jacket is particularly strong as a separate, worn with fitted black trousers or dark jeans – the wide peak lapels and double-breasted silhouette carry the off-white pinstripe pattern without needing the matching trouser.
How do I style a white pinstripe suit without it looking like a costume?
Keep everything underneath clean and simple – a fitted black or white bodysuit, a fine-knit top, or a silk camisole. The suit is the statement; the accessories and base layer should support rather than compete. Footwear makes the biggest difference: heeled mules or pointed-toe heels elevate the look immediately. Flat sandals or sneakers work for a deliberately casual take. Avoid anything too matching or too literal – no wide belts with contrasting buckles. The suit reads best when the rest of your outfit steps back.
How long does the whole process take?
Plan on 6 to 8 weeks from order to finished suit in your hands. The test suit takes 3 to 4 weeks to build and ship. Once you confirm the fit, the final suit takes 3 to 4 weeks in production. If you have a fixed date – a wedding, an event, a keynote – tell us when you order and we will confirm honestly whether we can meet it.

Suit Fit Guide
Women’s Suit Fit Guide
Choosing the right fit is essential in creating your custom suit. It determines the silhouette and how your test garment will feel before final tailoring.
Slim Fit
Streamlined and tapered for a sleek silhouette. The jacket is closely fitted through the shoulders, chest, and waist, with narrower sleeves and higher armholes. Pants sit at the waist and follow a slim line through the hips and thighs, with a narrow leg opening.
Best for: A lean frame or those who prefer a sharply tailored, body-contouring look.
Standard Fit
Softly tailored for a balanced, classic silhouette. The jacket offers gentle shaping at the waist with a natural fit through the shoulders and chest. Sleeves are slightly tapered with standard armholes. Pants sit comfortably at the waist with a straight fit through the hips and thighs and a moderate leg opening.
Best for: An average build or anyone seeking a versatile, comfortable fit for business or everyday wear.
Relaxed Fit
Designed with extra ease for all-day comfort. The jacket has a looser cut through the shoulders, chest, and waist, with fuller sleeves and lower armholes. Pants offer a relaxed fit from waist to hem, with added room in the hips, thighs, and leg opening for easy movement.
Best for: Those who prioritize comfort or prefer a roomier silhouette, particularly around the waist and shoulders.
Women’s Suit Fit Guide
How a Woman’s Suit Should Fit
A suit is judged in seconds and worn for hours, so the fit has to be right in both senses: sharp enough to command a room, and comfortable enough to sit, reach, and move all day. The good news with a custom-made suit is that fit is not a gamble. There are no standard sizes to squeeze into, you tell us the fit you want and your measurements, and we cut the jacket and the trousers or skirt to your body. Before we cut your final cloth we send a free test garment, so the fit is confirmed on you first.
This guide explains the three fits we offer and the points to check so your suit sits the way you want it to.
Step One
Choose your fit
Slim Fit
Closely tailored through the waist and hips with a defined waist and a lean trouser or skirt line. The sharpest, most modern silhouette. Best if you like a body-skimming look and are comfortable with less ease.
Standard (Classic) Fit
Shaped and tailored, but with a little more ease through the body for comfort and movement. The most versatile choice and the one most people are happiest in, flattering without feeling restrictive.
Relaxed Fit
The most room through the body, with a softer, easier line and a straighter trouser. Ideal if you like to layer, prefer a contemporary oversized look, or simply want maximum comfort.
Step Two
The fit checkpoints
Shoulders
The seam sits right at the edge of your shoulder, where the arm meets the body, with no overhang and no pulling. This is the one line we cut precisely to you, because the shoulder is the hardest area to alter later.
Bust & chest
The jacket closes cleanly with no strain or gaping at the button and no pulling across the bust. A well-cut women’s jacket shapes around the bust rather than flattening or straining over it.
Waist
The jacket nips in at your natural waist for shape, closely on a slim fit, gently on a classic fit. You should be able to fasten it and still sit comfortably.
Length, sleeve & leg
The jacket ends around the top of the hip and the sleeve finishes at the wrist bone. Trousers break lightly at the shoe or skim to a clean ankle; a skirt sits at your chosen length. You choose all of these.
Every suit is made to your measurements with no standard sizing, in the fit you choose. A free test garment confirms the shoulders, bust, waist, and length on your body before your final cloth is cut, and the test garment is yours to keep.
Your Worries, Answered
The doubts most women have, and why you can relax
I have never bought a suit I could not try on first. How do I know it will fit?
Because you do try it on first. After you send your measurements, we make a free test garment in a stand-in cloth to those numbers and post it to you. You put it on at home, check the shoulders, bust, waist, and length, and send us your notes and a couple of photos. Only once you are happy do we cut your final cloth, so the finished suit is not a leap of faith, it is a fit you have already seen and approved on your own body.
I need this for a specific occasion and I am terrified it will not be right on the day.
Tell us the date when you order and we plan the whole timeline back from it, including the free test-garment stage, so there is time to confirm the fit and make any adjustments with room to spare. For a dated event we recommend ordering two to three months ahead. Because you approve the fit on the test garment before the final suit is cut, you are not walking into your occasion hoping it fits, you already know it does.
I am nervous I will measure myself wrong.
You do not have to be perfect. Our guide walks you through each measurement, a friend or a local tailor can help with the tricky ones, and if you are unsure you can send your best numbers. The free test garment exists to catch any small error before it matters, we see the fit on your body and adjust, so an imperfect first measurement is completely normal and nothing to worry about.
I have always struggled to find suits that fit my body. Is this really for someone like me?
It is made for exactly you. The women who struggle most with off-the-rack, a fuller bust, a small waist, broad or narrow shoulders, a long or short torso, are the ones who benefit most, because we cut to your proportions instead of forcing you into a size. There is no shape that is wrong here; there are only your measurements.
My body is not a standard shape, one shoulder is higher, or I am fuller on top. Can you actually cut for that?
Yes. Custom-made is built for real bodies, not idealized ones. Note any asymmetry or particular concern in your order, or show us on the test garment, and we adjust the cut, a higher shoulder, a fuller bust, a shorter waist, and confirm it before the final cloth is touched. This is precisely what a bespoke process does that a size on a rack never can.
It is a lot to spend on something made just for me. What is my safety net?
Your safety net is that nothing final, and nothing costly, is cut until you have approved the fit on the free test garment. You are not paying for a gamble, you are paying for a suit whose fit you have already confirmed on your own body. And a well-made suit that actually fits gets worn for years, so the cost per wear is usually far lower than the compromise suits that sit unworn in the wardrobe.
What if the suit arrives and I am not happy with it?
The final suit is cut to the exact fit you signed off on the test garment, so surprises are rare by design. If anything still needs a tweak, the finished suit carries generous seam allowances so a local tailor can fine-tune it, and you can always contact us and we will help make it right. You are never left alone with a suit that does not work.
What if my weight changes before the event, or afterwards?
Take your measurements as close to the event as you can, and if your size shifts before we cut the final cloth we simply adjust to your new numbers. For afterwards, the finished suit is made with seam allowances so a local tailor can take it in or let it out within reason, and we keep your measurements on record for any future pieces.
