This is the warm one. Our handwoven 40 x 80 inch scarves weigh about 70 grams and are sheer; this one is more than four times heavier, with a raised pearl texture you can see and feel. It is a natural off white, the color of undyed wool, and it goes with almost everything.

The Texture
What Is a Pearl Weave?
Pearl weave is our name for the small, raised texture on this scarf: tiny rounded points across the surface, a little like seed pearls. It comes from the weave and the thick two-ply yarn, not from anything sewn on, so there are no pearls attached. Up close, as a cashmere shawl texture close up shows, the cashmere scarf texture is soft and nubbly; from a distance it reads as a quiet, matte off white.
If you searched for a pearl scarf or a white pearl scarf, this is a cashmere scarf named for its texture, not a scarf with pearls on it.
Ways to Wear
Ways to Wear a Medium-Weight Cashmere Scarf
At 28 x 80 inches it is long enough to wrap twice and wide enough to wear as a light shawl. These are the ways it is worn in the photos.
Long and Straight
Hang it around your neck and let both ends fall straight to the thigh. Over a dark sweater the off white frames the outfit.
Wrapped High

Off-White Pearl Weave scarf, about 320 g
26/2 yarn, two thick threads twisted together. Medium weight and opaque, 28 x 80 in, the warmest of the three.
How to read a yarn count: the first number is how fine each thread is (higher means finer), the second is how many threads are twisted together. A 200/2 yarn is very fine, so it weaves a sheer scarf; a 26/2 yarn is much thicker, so it weaves a dense, warm one. All three use the same 14 to 16 micron cashmere fiber.
A cashmere fiber close up shows why the scarf feels soft. Each fiber is 14 to 16 microns across, several times finer than a typical human hair, and naturally crimped, so the fibers trap still air and hold warmth. In cashmere wool fibers macro images, real cashmere looks fine and slightly hazy, and cashmere fibers macro shots of blends show thicker, straighter wool or shiny synthetic strands mixed in. In a macro photo of cashmere fabric, each fiber shows a fine, wavy texture and the fibers look soft and slightly hazy. In the same macro, the cashmere yarn texture is fuzzy rather than smooth. Care
Caring for a Medium-Weight Cashmere Scarf
Hand wash in cold or lukewarm water with a mild detergent or wool wash, soak for 8 to 12 minutes, press the water through without wringing, rinse in cool water and dry it flat on a towel out of direct sun. A thick scarf holds more water, so roll it in a dry towel to press it out before laying it flat.
Off white shows makeup at the neckline; dab marks with cool water before they set. For storage, fold it clean with cedar or lavender, away from light.
