You try it on. You check the shoulder width, the chest break point where the lapel rolls, the trouser seat and break at the shoe. You send us photos and notes. We make every correction you ask for. Then we cut the black dupioni silk to those confirmed measurements. The final suit ships 3 to 4 weeks after you approve the fit. Total timeline from order to final delivery: 6 to 8 weeks. Allow the full 8 weeks if you have a fixed event date.

Dupioni silk is woven from two silk filaments from different cocoons wound together on the same thread. Where they intersect unevenly, the weave produces a natural cross-grain slub — a small ridge of slightly thicker yarn running across the width of the fabric. In most colors, these slubs read as texture. In black, they do something else: they create depth. A plain-woven black fabric reflects light uniformly, producing a flat, matte surface. Black dupioni silk catches and scatters light differently across the slubbed areas, giving the fabric a dimensional quality that photographs with a richness that plain silk, polyester satin, or wool-silk blends cannot replicate.
