Indigo Blue or Navy: What Color Is This Scarf?
Indigo sits between blue and violet. Navy is darker and closer to black. In daylight this scarf reads as a deep blue with a soft violet cast, and indoors or at night it looks close to navy. If you were looking for a dark blue shawl, a navy cashmere scarf or a navy scarf for women, this is the nearest color we weave, with a little more life in it than true navy.
Indigo here is the name of the color, not the dye. The cashmere is dyed with Azo-free dyes after weaving, not with plant indigo.

Warmth in cashmere comes from fineness, not weight. Very fine fibers trap still air close to your skin, which is how a 70 gram scarf can feel warm around your neck.
14 to 16 microns
Under US labeling rules, cashmere must average 19 microns or finer. This fiber is finer still, so it feels soft rather than prickly.
35 to 55 mm staple
Longer fibers hold in the yarn better, so the scarf pills and sheds less as it ages.

Care
Caring for a Deep Blue Cashmere Scarf
A deep color can release a little dye in its first wash, so wash it on its own the first time. Hand wash in cold or lukewarm water with a mild detergent or wool wash, soak for 8 to 12 minutes, press the water through without wringing, rinse in cool water and dry it flat on a towel out of direct sun. A steamer or low iron removes creases.
Between wears, hang it somewhere airy. For storage, fold it clean with cedar or lavender.
The open weave can catch on rings, bracelets, zips and bag straps. If a thread pulls, ease it back from the other side with a blunt needle. Never cut it.
