The Color
Willow, Sage or Olive: What Green Is It?
Willow green is a pale green with gray in it, close to sage. It is lighter and cooler than olive, which is a darker green with yellow and brown in it. If you searched for an olive green cashmere scarf, this is softer and lighter; for a deep green, see Forest Green below.
White and cream
Fresh and light, the easiest pairing for sage.

As in the photos, sage over black looks calm and modern.
Warmth in cashmere comes from fineness, not weight. Very fine fibers trap still air close to your skin, which is how a 70 gram scarf can feel warm around your neck. The cashmere scarf close up below shows the soft, fine surface of the fiber: this scarf is slightly felted after weaving, which gives it a fuller, softer hand than our sheerer handwoven scarves.

A cashmere scarf close up should look soft and slightly hazy, not shiny and flat; a hard sheen often means synthetic fiber. Each scarf is woven by one weaver on a wooden handloom in our Kathmandu workshop, which takes about five days. After weaving it is washed, dyed willow green, checked and mended by hand, and finished with a loose fringe. Care
Caring for a Soft Green Cashmere Scarf
Hand wash in cold or lukewarm water with a mild detergent or wool wash, soak for 8 to 12 minutes, press the water through without wringing, rinse in cool water and dry it flat on a towel out of direct sun. A steamer or low iron removes creases.
New cashmere can release a few loose fibers in its first weeks of wear; this settles with wear and the first wash. For storage, fold it clean with cedar or lavender.
The open weave can catch on rings, bracelets, zips and bag straps. If a thread pulls, ease it back from the other side with a blunt needle. Never cut it.
