At 40 x 80 inches this is wide enough to fold and long enough to knot. Here is how to wear a scarf this size: the four ways it is worn in the photos, with how to do each one.
The Loose Drape
Fold the scarf in half lengthwise. Place it around the back of your neck, bring one end over the opposite shoulder and let both ends fall loosely in front. Ten seconds, and it stays put.
The Knotted Loop
Gather the scarf narrow and hang it around your neck with one end longer. Wrap the long end once around, then tie both ends in a loose knot below the collarbone. The warmest way to wear it with a sweater.
The Cape Wrap

Caring for an Everyday Cashmere Scarf
A scarf you wear most days needs washing more often than an occasion shawl. Hand wash it in cold or lukewarm water with a mild detergent or wool wash, soak for 8 to 12 minutes, press the water through without wringing, rinse in cool water and dry it flat on a towel out of direct sun. A steamer or low iron removes creases.
New cashmere can release a few loose fibers in its first weeks of wear, and a dark green shows them more on light clothes. This settles with wear and the first wash. Between wears, hang it somewhere airy; for storage, fold it clean with cedar or lavender.
The open weave can catch on bag straps, zips and jewelry. If a thread pulls, ease it back from the other side with a blunt needle. Never cut it.
