Care
Caring for a Cashmere Sweater
Hand wash in cold or lukewarm water with a mild detergent. Submerge the sweater, move it gently for about 30 seconds and let it soak for up to 30 minutes. Drain, rinse in cool, clean water, and press the water out without wringing. Lay it flat on a towel, reshape it and let it air dry; hanging a wet knit stretches it.
A deep color can release a little dye in its first wash, so wash it on its own the first time. Fold it rather than hang it, store it in a cool, dry place with cedar or lavender, and rest it between wears so it keeps its shape. Light pilling under the arms is normal for any cashmere; lift it with a cashmere comb or a fabric shaver. Q. What color is this orange sweater?
A. It is a warm, saturated orange we call ember orange, between pumpkin and burnt orange but brighter, with navy tipping at the edges. It is not neon and not a light orange.
Q. What do you wear with an orange sweater?
