Mohair Wool Suit

$719.00 USD

The mohair and wool suit is engineered for performance. The unique, spring-like structure of mohair fibers lends the cloth an exceptional crease resistance, ensuring you remain impeccably sharp from a transatlantic flight to an evening cocktail reception. Its natural wicking properties provide comfort in any climate, making it the definitive choice for the international business traveler. While its classic form anchors a formal ensemble, the jacket can also be commissioned with an unstructured construction, creating a versatile blazer that pairs with equal authority over fine chinos or linen trousers.

Description

The mohair suit is an artifact of quiet, sophisticated power, with a rich heritage in British cinematic style. Our interpretation is commissioned in a fine Super 140s’ blend of merino wool and mohair—a cloth prized for its remarkable crease resistance and its elegant, low lustre, making it the definitive choice for travel and long days where an impeccable appearance is non-negotiable.

The Architecture of the Mohair Wool Suit

The jacket is built upon a full, hand-basted canvas front, an unseen architecture that allows the garment to mold to the wearer over time. The trousers are designed with a full skirt-lining in the waistband for a clean, comfortable drape. Every detail, from the hand-carved horn buttons to the classic two-button stance, is executed with precision.

A Personal Commission

The creation of your suit is a collaborative process. Through our customizer, you can define the final silhouette—from a classic tailored fit to a more specific, vintage-inspired cut with a longer length and medium-width lapels. Accommodations, such as a fully extended trouser lining, are naturally part of our bespoke service.

The Bespoke Promise: Your Fitting Canvas

A garment engineered for performance demands an unimpeachable fit. Your commission therefore begins with a preliminary fitting suit—a toile—crafted to your initial specifications. This critical step allows for the meticulous refinement of the suit’s balance and line, ensuring the final piece is achieved with absolute precision. The fitting canvas is, of course, yours to retain.

The problem with a linen wedding suit off the rack is that linen without a proper fit looks underdressed, not relaxed. The wrinkles are visible from across the aisle when the suit wasn’t cut for your body — and unlike wool, linen has no structure to hide an imprecise fit. This three-piece linen wedding suit is made to your measurements in 100% pure linen across 18 colors, with a canvas front jacket, hand-finished buttonholes, and a full vest so when the jacket comes off at the reception you still look formally dressed. Before we cut the linen, we send a free test suit to confirm the fit at home.
