A bespoke silver dupioni silk suit tailored to your exact measurements, with a free test suit sent before any silk is cut. Designed with a 5-roll-2 portrait lapel and sharp roped shoulders, it is available in 22 dupioni silk colors and 34 acetate lining options. The natural horizontal slub of pure dupioni silk reads as cool steel grey in daylight, then shifts to luminous silver under evening lighting—a depth and movement no flat-weave or synthetic silk can replicate. This is the 100% pure dupioni silk silhouette many master tailors choose for themselves.
Follow these simple steps to ensure your custom garment fits you perfectly. All you need is a flexible measuring tape.
You do not have to get this perfect. Send us your best measurements and we craft a free test garment to your numbers first, so the fit is confirmed on your body before we cut your final cloth. Every piece is custom made to your measurements, and the test garment is yours to keep.

Before You Order
Your questions, answered
Ordering a garment made to your measurements should feel reassuring, not nerve-racking. Here are the doubts men most often have, and exactly why you can set them aside.
I have never bought a suit I could not try on in a shop first. How do I know it will fit?
Because you do try it on first. Once you send your measurements, we make a free test garment in a stand-in cloth cut to your numbers and post it to you. You put it on at home, check the shoulders, chest, waist, and length, move around in it, and send us your notes and a couple of photos. Only once you are happy do we cut your final cloth, so the finished suit is not a leap of faith, it is a fit you have already seen and approved on your own body.
I am worried I will measure myself wrong.
You do not have to get it perfect. The videos and steps above walk you through each measurement one at a time, a friend or a local tailor can help with the ones that are easier with a second pair of hands, and if you are unsure you can send your best numbers. The free test garment exists precisely to catch anything slightly off, we see the fit on your body and adjust before your final cloth is touched, so a first-try measurement is completely normal.
I have always struggled to find clothes that fit me. Broad shoulders, an athletic build, a longer or shorter torso, or a fuller waist. Is this really for someone like me?
It is made for exactly you. The men who fight hardest with off-the-rack are the ones who benefit most here, because there is no standard size to squeeze into. We cut to your proportions, broad shoulders with a trimmer waist, a fuller stomach with a shorter jacket length, a long or short back, so the garment follows your body instead of forcing your body into a shape it is not. There is nothing wrong with your build; there are only your measurements.
My body is not symmetrical, one shoulder sits lower or my posture is not textbook. Can you cut for that?
Yes. A garment made to your measurements is built for real bodies, not idealized ones. Note anything particular in your order, or simply show us on the test garment, and we adjust the cut, a lower shoulder, a fuller seat, a forward stance, and confirm it before the final cloth is cut. This is exactly what the process does that a size on a rack never can.
It is a lot to spend on something custom made. What is my safety net?
Your safety net is that nothing final, and nothing costly, is cut until you have approved the fit on the free test garment. You are not paying for a gamble, you are paying for a garment whose fit you have already confirmed on your own body. And a well-made piece that actually fits gets worn for years, so the cost per wear is usually far lower than the compromise suits and jackets that sit unworn in the wardrobe.
I need this for a wedding or a specific event and I am anxious it will not be right on the day.
Tell us the date when you order and we plan the whole timeline back from it, including the free test-garment stage, so there is time to confirm the fit and make any adjustments with room to spare. For a dated event we recommend ordering two to three months ahead. Because you approve the fit on the test garment before the final piece is cut, you are not walking into your event hoping it fits, you already know it does.
What if it arrives and something is still not quite right?
The final garment is cut to the exact fit you signed off on the test garment, so surprises are rare by design. If a small tweak is ever needed, your finished piece carries seam allowances so a local tailor can fine-tune it, and you can always contact us and we will help make it right. You are never left alone with something that does not work.
What if my weight changes before the event, or later on?
Take your measurements as close to the date as you can, and if your size shifts before we cut the final cloth we simply work to your new numbers. For afterwards, your finished garment is made with seam allowances so a local tailor can take it in or let it out within reason, and we keep your measurements on record, so ordering another piece that fits is simple whenever you want one.
Do I really need someone to help me, or can I do this alone?
You can absolutely do it alone. Most measurements are straightforward to take on yourself with the videos above, and only a few, like across the back and shoulders, are simply easier with a friend holding the tape. Either way, the free test garment is the real check: whatever you measure, you confirm the fit on your body before anything final is made.

The silk suit that photographs correctly every time
Most silk suits sold online are photographed under controlled studio lighting, on a standard body, in a fused construction. They look exceptional in the image. In person – especially at the event they were bought for – they read flat, shapeless, or worse, like a costume. The problem is not silk. The problem is that the wrong silk, cut wrong, built wrong, cannot survive the gap between a product photo and a wedding venue. Men searching “silver silk suit” and “gray dupioni silk suit” are often looking for the same thing and finding the same disappointment.
This suit is different because the fabric is different. Dupioni silk has a natural horizontal slub woven into every yard. That slub is why the cloth reads as cool steel grey in outdoor daylight and shifts toward luminous silver under the warm directional lighting at a reception hall. It is not a filter trick in a photograph. It is what the fabric does. A 5-roll-2 portrait lapel, canvas front, made to your exact measurements.
The Guarantee
A free test suit ships before we cut the silk
Commissioning a silk suit online without seeing the fabric in person is a fair thing to be cautious about. We resolved that the only way that actually works: before a single inch of dupioni is cut, we make you a complete test suit in a comparable weight fabric, ship it to your door at no charge, and you try it on at home – over the shirt and shoes you plan to wear.
You send us your fit notes. If anything needs adjusting – the shoulder line, the chest, the trouser break – we refine the pattern. Only once you confirm the fit do we cut the silk. The test suit is yours to keep.
Most online tailors skip this step. With silk, a garment made correctly from the first cut is a different result than one corrected afterward. This is why we do not skip it.

The Silk
Why dupioni photographs differently from any other fabric
100% Pure Silk Natural Horizontal Slub 22 Colors Light-Responsive Wedding-Grade
Dupioni is woven from the reeled thread of two silkworms whose cocoons merge during spinning. The result is a natural horizontal slub – an irregular crosswise texture that cannot be replicated in plain-weave or synthetic silk. It is this slub that gives dupioni its directional light response: the cloth holds light differently at every angle, which is why it does not look the same in two photographs taken at the same event from different positions. In silver, that property is most visible. Restrained and cool in natural daylight. Luminous under the warm light of a ceremony or reception hall.
A note on slub direction. Every dupioni suit in the market runs the slub horizontally – the texture crosses the body. Baron has made dupioni suits with the slub running vertically, changing how the cloth drapes and how it catches light. In black dupioni, vertical slub reads as architectural. In silver, horizontal slub reads as luminous. Both are available on commission. See what vertical slub does in black dupioni.
Colors & Lining
22 dupioni silks. One suit, built for your event.
The same construction – 5-roll-2 portrait lapel, canvas front, made to your measurements – is available in 22 dupioni silk colors. Silver is the default and the most requested. Below are the colors grouped by how they read in a room.
For the Ceremony
The formal palette. Colors that belong at a wedding or black-tie event without needing to explain themselves.
Silver
Cream
Blood Red
Blue
Silver
The default. Cool and restrained in daylight, luminous under event lighting. The color that changes in every photograph from the same day – intentionally. The most searched dupioni color for weddings for a reason.
Cream
The warm alternative. Where silver reads metallic, cream reads ivory. Pairs with champagne, blush, and botanical wedding palettes. The groom who wants formality without the cool tone chooses this.
For the Statement
Worn by the person who has already owned a formal suit and wants the room to know the difference.
Royal Gold
Blood Red
Purple
Turquoise
Royal Gold
The one they photograph at the reception. Under warm event lighting, royal gold dupioni is the most luminous cloth in the room. It reads like wealth without announcing itself – the slub does that quietly.
Blood Red
The ceremony statement. Worn at Indian weddings, gala events, and formal occasions where the suit is meant to be remembered. The slub gives it depth that flat red silk never achieves.
The Quiet Ones
Less obvious. More remembered. The person who wore the khaki dupioni suit is the one guests ask about three years later.
English Khaki
Chocolate
White
Sea Green
English Khaki
Country-formal, worn with tan shoes and the confidence of someone who did not need to think twice. The most underrated color in the dupioni range. It ages beautifully and pairs with anything brown, olive, or cream.
White
For events in strong daylight – destination weddings, garden ceremonies, outdoor galas. The slub stops it looking synthetic. White dupioni has texture where white polyester has none.
All 22 dupioni colors are available. The full palette is selectable on this page. Lining is selected separately – see below.
The lining is the part nobody else sees – except you, every time you take the suit off. Choose from 34 acetate options: solid colors from black and burgundy to gold and teal, or patterned linings including paisley in four colorways. If you are unsure, note your preference at checkout and we will advise before cutting.

Who This Is For
Who this suit is for
Grooms who want the ceremony photographs to hold up twenty years from now
Silver dupioni responds to light differently in every photograph taken at the same event. The outdoor portraits and the reception shots will not look the same suit. They will look better.
Men who ordered a silk suit online and received something disappointing
The problem was not silk. It was a fused front and a standardized cut that fit nobody. Dupioni on a canvas front, made to your measurements, is a different product category entirely.
Men who will be photographed from every angle at a formal event
Speakers, award recipients, panelists, wedding party principals. Dupioni’s slub means no angle is flat. The suit reads as presence on camera without requiring any effort.
Men who want a formal suit that is not navy, black, or charcoal
Silver reads as a deliberate choice. It pairs with any wedding palette, works at any formal occasion, and does not look like a compromise or a departure. It looks considered.
Men who want something a tailor has not made for anyone else on their block
Vertical slub orientation, bespoke lapel widths, three-piece configuration, custom lining. If you have a specific request, write it in the order notes. We will tell you what is possible before we start.

Questions & Answers
Frequently asked questions
Is a gray dupioni silk suit the same as a silver dupioni silk suit?
Yes. Silver and gray describe the same cloth under different light. In natural daylight, silver dupioni reads as cool steel grey. Under the warm directional lighting at a wedding venue or formal event, the same cloth shifts toward luminous silver. Both search terms describe this product. If you are searching for a gray dupioni silk suit for a wedding, this is it.
What makes dupioni silk look different from other silk?
Dupioni is woven from the reeled thread of two silkworms whose cocoons merge during spinning. This produces a natural horizontal slub – an irregular crosswise texture – that no flat-weave or synthetic silk can replicate. The slub gives the fabric its directional light response: it reads differently from every angle and under every light source. This is why dupioni photographs with depth that polyester and plain-weave silk cannot produce.
What is the difference between horizontal and vertical slub in dupioni?
In a standard dupioni suit, the slub runs horizontally across the body. Light catches it laterally as you move, adding texture that reads as depth from the front. Baron has made dupioni suits with the slub running vertically – the texture falls with the garment instead of across it. The visual effect is elongating and architectural. In black dupioni, vertical slub changes the entire character of the cloth. See the black dupioni 3-roll-2 suit for an example.
What is the 5-roll-2 button stance?
A 5-roll-2 jacket has five buttons on the front placket, but the lapel rolls naturally to the second button. Only the lower two or three buttons are ever fastened. The effect is a longer lapel roll than a standard two-button jacket – the roll point sits higher on the chest, making the silhouette more vertical and more formal. It is the configuration tailors choose for themselves when they want a single-breasted suit that reads as genuinely tailored, not default.
How does the free test suit work?
After you place your order and submit your measurements, we make a full test suit in a comparable weight fabric before touching the dupioni. We ship it to you at no charge. You try it on at home, send your fit notes and photos, and we adjust the pattern where needed. Once you confirm the fit, we cut the silk. The test suit is yours to keep. We only cut the dupioni when the pattern is confirmed.
Can I change the lapel width, add a vest, or request a custom detail?
Yes. The default is a wide portrait lapel at 3.5 to 4.5 inches, high double back vents, and a two-piece configuration. A narrower lapel, a single vent, a vest to make it a three-piece, or a different trouser silhouette are all available. Add your requests in the order notes at checkout and we will confirm before production begins.
Is this suit appropriate for a wedding?
Yes. Dupioni silk is a formal fabric. Silver is the most requested dupioni color for weddings – it photographs under both natural and event lighting without looking flat, it pairs with any palette from botanical to minimalist, and the 5-roll-2 construction places it at the formal end of single-breasted tailoring. Order with the full 6-week lead time when buying for a specific event date.
How long does it take?
6 to 8 weeks total from order to delivery, including the free test suit. The test suit typically takes 3 weeks. Construction takes 3 to 4 weeks once fit is confirmed. We ship worldwide via trackable courier and provide tracking from dispatch. If you have a firm event date, contact us before ordering and we will confirm whether the timeline is achievable.
How do I care for a dupioni silk suit?
Dry-clean only. Do not spot-clean with water – dupioni marks easily from direct moisture contact. Hang on a wide suit hanger between wears and allow it to breathe. The natural slub hides minor surface creases better than plain-weave silk does. Store in a breathable garment bag between seasons. With proper care, a dupioni silk suit holds its structure and character for many years.
The mohair and wool suit is engineered for performance. The unique, spring-like structure of mohair fibers lends the cloth an exceptional crease resistance, ensuring you remain impeccably sharp from a transatlantic flight to an evening cocktail reception. Its natural wicking properties provide comfort in any climate, making it the definitive choice for the international business traveler. While its classic form anchors a formal ensemble, the jacket can also be commissioned with an unstructured construction, creating a versatile blazer that pairs with equal authority over fine chinos or linen trousers.

The problem with a linen wedding suit off the rack is that linen without a proper fit looks underdressed, not relaxed. The wrinkles are visible from across the aisle when the suit wasn’t cut for your body — and unlike wool, linen has no structure to hide an imprecise fit. This three-piece linen wedding suit is made to your measurements in 100% pure linen across 18 colors, with a canvas front jacket, hand-finished buttonholes, and a full vest so when the jacket comes off at the reception you still look formally dressed. A suit is judged in the first few seconds and then worn for hours, so it has to be two things at once: sharp enough to command the room, and comfortable enough to sit, reach, and move through a long day. With a suit made to your measurements, fit is not a gamble. There are no standard sizes to squeeze into. You tell us the fit you want and your measurements, we cut the jacket and trousers to your body, and before we cut your final cloth we send a free test garment so the fit is confirmed on you first.
A suit like this is not a one-time purchase. Cut to your proportions and built properly, it becomes the piece you reach for at every wedding, interview, and dinner for years, and still feels like yours long after. This guide covers the four fits we offer and the points to check so it sits exactly the way you want.
Step One
Choose your fit
Slim
Closely tailored through the chest and waist with a lean trouser line. The sharpest, most modern silhouette, for a body-skimming look with less ease.
Standard
Shaped and tailored with a little more room through the body for comfort and movement. The most versatile choice and the one most men are happiest in.
Relaxed
The most room through the body, with a softer, easier line and a straighter trouser. Ideal if you like to layer or simply want maximum comfort.
Athletic
Cut for a built frame, with extra room through the chest, shoulders, and thigh and a trimmer waist, so a muscular or V-shaped build fits cleanly with no pulling.
Step Two
The fit checkpoints
Shoulders
The seam sits right at the edge of your shoulder, where the arm meets the body, with no overhang and no pulling. This is the line we cut most precisely to you, because the shoulder is the hardest area to alter later.
Chest & button
The jacket closes cleanly with no strain, no gaping, and no X-shaped pull at the button. A well-cut chest lets you fasten the jacket and still breathe and move.
Waist & length
The jacket takes in gently at the waist for shape, closely on a slim fit, softly on a classic fit, and ends around the middle of your hand when your arms hang relaxed.
Sleeve & trouser
The jacket sleeve finishes at the wrist bone with a little shirt cuff showing. The trouser breaks lightly at the shoe or skims to a clean ankle, whichever you choose. You set all of these.
Every suit is made to your measurements with no standard sizing, in the fit you choose. A free test garment confirms the shoulders, chest, waist, and length on your body before your final cloth is cut, and the test garment is yours to keep.
Your Worries, Answered
The doubts most men have, and why you can relax
I have never bought a suit I could not try on in a shop first. How do I know it will fit?
Because you do try it on first. After you send your measurements, we make a free test garment in a stand-in cloth to those numbers and post it to you. You put it on at home, check the shoulders, chest, waist, and length, and send us your notes and a couple of photos. Only once you are happy do we cut your final cloth, so the finished suit is not a leap of faith, it is a fit you have already seen and approved on your own body.
I have always struggled to find a suit that fits. Broad shoulders, an athletic build, a fuller waist, a long or short torso. Is this really for me?
It is made for exactly you. The men who fight hardest with off-the-rack are the ones who gain the most here, because there is no fixed size to force yourself into. We cut to your proportions, broad shoulders with a trimmer waist, a fuller stomach with the right jacket length, a long or short back, so the suit follows your body instead of the other way around. There is nothing wrong with your build; there are only your measurements.
I am nervous I will measure myself wrong.
You do not have to be perfect. Our guide walks you through each measurement, a friend or a local tailor can help with the tricky ones, and if you are unsure you can send your best numbers. The free test garment exists to catch anything slightly off before it matters, we see the fit on your body and adjust, so an imperfect first measurement is completely normal.
I need it for a wedding or a specific event and I am anxious it will not be right on the day.
Tell us the date when you order and we plan the whole timeline back from it, including the free test-garment stage, so there is room to confirm the fit and make any adjustments with time to spare. For a dated event we recommend ordering two to three months ahead. Because you approve the fit on the test garment before the final suit is cut, you are not walking in hoping it fits, you already know it does.
It is a lot to spend on one suit. What is my safety net?
Nothing final, and nothing costly, is cut until you have approved the fit on the free test garment, so you are never paying for a gamble. And a suit that actually fits gets worn again and again, to weddings, interviews, dinners, for years, so the cost spread across all that wear is usually far lower than the compromise suits that sit unworn in the wardrobe.
Will I still be happy with it in a few years, or is this just for one occasion?
It is built to be owned, not used once. We cut a timeless line rather than a passing trend, and the suit is constructed properly with quality cloth and generous seam allowances, so it holds its shape and can be adjusted as you change. Most men find the suit becomes a quiet favourite, the one they trust for anything important, and five years on it still feels like theirs. That is the difference between owning a suit and simply buying one.
What if it arrives and something is still not right?
The final suit is cut to the exact fit you approved on the test garment, so surprises are rare by design. If a small tweak is ever needed, the finished suit carries generous seam allowances so a local tailor can fine-tune it, and you can always contact us and we will help make it right. You are never left alone with a suit that does not work.
What if my weight changes over the years?
Take your measurements as close to your order as you can, and if your size shifts before we cut the final cloth we simply work to your new numbers. For later on, the finished suit is made with seam allowances so a local tailor can take it in or let it out within reason, and we keep your measurements on record, so ordering another piece that fits is simple whenever you want one.
