Follow these simple steps to ensure your custom garment fits you perfectly. All you need is a flexible measuring tape.
Measure across your back from the edge of one shoulder to the edge of the other, keeping the tape flat.
Measure from the edge of your shoulder, along the outside of your relaxed arm, to your desired sleeve length.
Measure around the armhole where the sleeve joins the body. Pass the tape from the top of the shoulder, under the armpit, and back to the starting point. Keep the tape comfortably snug. Measure over a lightweight shirt or close-fitting clothing, keeping your arm relaxed at your side.
With muscles relaxed, measure around the fullest part of your upper arm. Keep the tape snug with room for one finger.
Wrap the measuring tape around your wrist bone, where a watch would sit. Keep the tape snug but not tight. Leave room for one finger between the tape and your wrist for comfort
Measure from the highest point of the shoulder, next to the neck, over the fullest part of the bust, and straight down to your desired garment length. Continue to the desired hem for the garment you are ordering, whether it’s a shirt, jacket, blazer, coat, or full-length coat.
Measure around the base of your neck where a collar would sit, keeping the tape level with room for one finger.
Stand straight with your arms relaxed. Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust, keeping it level and snug with room for a finger.
Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, typically above the belly button. Keep the tape level with room for one finger.
Stand with your feet together and measure around the widest part of your hips and seat. Keep the tape level with room for one finger.
Measure around your waist where you normally wear the waistband of your pants or skirts. Keep the tape level with room for one finger.
Measure around the fullest part of your upper thigh, keeping the tape snug with room for one finger.
Measure around your ankle or the width of the trouser hem on a well-fitting pair of pants (flat, across x2).
Measure from the top of your waistband down the outside of your leg to the point where you want the trouser hem to finish.
Measure from the highest point of the crotch down the inside of your leg to the same hem point used for the trouser length measurement.
Women’s Measuring Guide
All you need is a flexible measuring tape, a mirror, and ideally a friend to help with the shoulder and back measurements. Wear close-fitting clothing so the tape sits against your body, stand naturally with your weight even on both feet, and keep the tape level and snug with room for one finger. Below is every measurement we may ask for. You do not have to get each number perfect: we send a free test garment before cutting your final cloth, so the fit is confirmed on your body first.
Stand straight with your arms relaxed and wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust, keeping it level and snug with room for one finger.

Most wool suits for women are made for a cool office and a short walk to the car. Step outside in July, sit through a long flight or a day of back-to-back meetings, and a standard suit cloth becomes warm, heavy and creased. Tropical wool was developed for exactly those days: a lightweight, open weave of tightly twisted yarn that lets air through and springs back from creasing.

Free Test Suit
A jacket can be forgiving. Trousers are not: a rise that is a little short pulls at the seat, a hem that is a little long breaks over the shoe and makes the leg look shorter. That is why the women’s tailored pantsuit is made in cotton first, so you can check both pieces on your own body.
The most common correction on a women’s pantsuit is at the back of the trousers: fabric bunching below the seat on a smaller hip, or too little room where the hip is fuller behind than in front. Many of our clients also have no tailor nearby. If no one can help you, measure your bust, natural waist, hips, trouser waist, thigh and ankle yourself, and we take the rest from your best-fitting suit, guiding you by video call or WhatsApp, one photo at a time.
Why Tropical Wool

One honest trade-off: the jacket is fully lined, which makes it slide on easily and hang cleanly but adds a layer. If you live somewhere very hot and want the jacket half-lined, ask for it in the comment box on the measurement form.
