Follow these simple steps to ensure your custom garment fits you perfectly. All you need is a flexible measuring tape.
Measure across your back from the edge of one shoulder to the edge of the other, keeping the tape flat.
Measure from the edge of your shoulder, along the outside of your relaxed arm, to your desired sleeve length.
Measure around the armhole where the sleeve joins the body. Pass the tape from the top of the shoulder, under the armpit, and back to the starting point. Keep the tape comfortably snug. Measure over a lightweight shirt or close-fitting clothing, keeping your arm relaxed at your side.
With muscles relaxed, measure around the fullest part of your upper arm. Keep the tape snug with room for one finger.
Wrap the measuring tape around your wrist bone, where a watch would sit. Keep the tape snug but not tight. Leave room for one finger between the tape and your wrist for comfort
Measure from the highest point of the shoulder, next to the neck, over the fullest part of the bust, and straight down to your desired garment length. Continue to the desired hem for the garment you are ordering, whether it’s a shirt, jacket, blazer, coat, or full-length coat.
Measure around the base of your neck where a collar would sit, keeping the tape level with room for one finger.

All you need is a flexible measuring tape, a mirror, and ideally a friend to help with the shoulder and back measurements. Wear close-fitting clothing so the tape sits against your body, stand naturally with your weight even on both feet, and keep the tape level and snug with room for one finger. Below is every measurement we may ask for. You do not have to get each number perfect: we send a free test garment before cutting your final cloth, so the fit is confirmed on your body first.

Button a double-breasted coat high on the chest and it becomes a box: two rows of buttons, a wall of cloth, no waist and no neck. This coat does the opposite. Its four buttons sit low, near the hip, so the lapels fall into a long, deep V that lengthens the whole body, and the double-breasted front reads as relaxed rather than formal.

Free Test Coat
A low button stance only flatters when the buttons land at the right point on your body: too high and the V is short, too low and the front swings open. In the cotton test coat, made to your measurements, you see exactly where the V ends and move it if you want.

Double Faced?
If you searched for bespoke double faced wool coats: this is not double-faced cloth. Double-faced wool is two layers woven together and is usually left unlined; this coat is a single 14 oz wool and cashmere cloth, fully lined, with a canvas front behind the lapels. The lining makes it slide on over a sweater, and the canvas keeps the wide lapels from collapsing.
