The Women’s Custom Blazer That Fits Your Shoulders First
A blazer is judged at the shoulders. If the seam sits past your shoulder bone, the jacket looks borrowed. If it sits inside, the sleeve pulls every time you reach for something. Ready-made blazers are cut for one set of shoulders and one bust, which is why so many women own a blazer they only wear open. Alterations can take in a waist or shorten a sleeve, but a shoulder that is wrong stays wrong.
This blazer starts from your measurements. The shoulders, bust, waist and sleeve are cut for you, the front is darted to follow your shape, and a single button at a low stance draws a long, clean line from the lapel to the hip. It closes because it was made to close.
The cloth is Super 120s worsted wool woven as sharkskin: a dark yarn and a light yarn twisted through a fine twill, so the surface changes tone as the light moves across it. From a distance it reads as a solid color. Up close it has depth that a flat gray or black cloth never has. It is the same cloth tailors have used for evening and business suits for generations, and it keeps its crispness through a long day.

With a custom-made jacket there are no standard sizes: you choose the fit, we cut the shoulders and body to your measurements, and a free test garment confirms it on you before your final cloth is ever cut. This guide covers the fits we offer and exactly where a jacket should sit.

Shoulders (the key)
The shoulder seam sits exactly at the edge of your shoulder, with no overhang past the arm and no divot or pulling. This is the single most important line, and the hardest to alter, so we cut it precisely to you and confirm it on the test garment.
Bust & button
When fastened, the jacket closes cleanly with no strain lines radiating from the button and no gap that pulls open across the bust. A women’s jacket is shaped with darts to curve around the bust rather than straining over it.
Waist & length
The jacket draws in at your natural waist for shape, and the hem ends around the top of your hip (longer or shorter is your choice). You should be able to fasten it and still sit down comfortably.
Sleeve & armhole
The sleeve finishes at your wrist bone, so a little shirt cuff can show, and the armhole sits high enough to let you raise your arm without the whole jacket lifting. Both are cut to your measurements.

The doubts most women have, and why you can relax
My jackets always pull or gape at the bust. Will this finally sit right?
Yes, and it is one of the main reasons women come to us. Off-the-rack jackets are cut for an average bust, so they strain at the button or gape open. We shape the jacket with darts and cut it to your real bust measurement, so it closes cleanly with no pulling and no gap, and if the free test garment shows even a hint of strain, we correct it before the final jacket is made. You should never have to safety-pin a blazer again.
I have never bought a jacket I could not try on first. How do I know it will fit?
Because you do try it on first. We make a free test jacket in a stand-in cloth to your measurements and post it to you. You put it on, check the shoulders, bust, waist, and sleeves, and send us your notes and a couple of photos. Only once you are happy do we cut your final cloth, so the finished jacket is a fit you have already approved, not a gamble.
My shoulders are broad, or narrow, and jackets never sit right on them. Can you cut for that?
Yes, and this is exactly where custom-made earns its place. The shoulder is the foundation of a jacket and the hardest area to alter, so we cut it to your exact shoulder measurement, broad, narrow, sloped, or square, and confirm it on the free test garment before the final jacket is made. No more overhang past the arm, and no more pulling.
I am nervous I will measure myself wrong.
You do not have to be perfect. Our guide takes you through each measurement, a friend or a local tailor can help, and if you are unsure you can send your best numbers. The free test garment is there to catch any small error, we see the jacket on your body and adjust, so a first-try measurement is completely fine.
I have always struggled to find a blazer that fits my shape. Is this really for me?
It is made for exactly you. A fuller bust with a small waist, broad or narrow shoulders, a long or short torso, these are the shapes off-the-rack fails, and the ones made to your measurements fits best, because we cut to your proportions rather than an average. There is no wrong shape here, only your measurements.
What if the jacket arrives and something is not quite right?
The final jacket is cut to the exact fit you approved on the test garment, so surprises are rare by design. If a small tweak is ever needed, the finished jacket carries seam allowances at the waist and sides so a local tailor can fine-tune it, and you can always contact us and we will help make it right.
It feels like a lot for a single jacket made just for me. What is my safety net?
Nothing final, and nothing costly, is cut until you have approved the fit on the free test garment. You are not paying for a gamble, you are paying for a jacket whose fit you have already confirmed on your own body, and a blazer that truly fits gets worn constantly, so it earns its cost back in wear.
What if my size changes later?
The finished jacket is made with seam allowances, so a local tailor can take it in or let it out at the waist and sides within reason. The shoulders and armholes are cut precisely to you from the start, since those are the areas that cannot easily be changed, and we keep your measurements on record for any future pieces.
