Every women’s version of the Dark Knight Joker coat is a polyester Halloween accessory. This is the actual coat — full-grain cow Nappa leather, wide peak lapels, flared five-button cuffs, triple rear vents, and a princess seam back that shapes to a woman’s body rather than hanging off it. Made to your exact measurements with a free cotton test coat before any leather is cut. Because once leather is cut, it is permanent.
Follow these simple steps to ensure your custom garment fits you perfectly. All you need is a flexible measuring tape.
You do not have to get this perfect. Send us your best measurements and we craft a free test garment to your numbers first, so the fit is confirmed on your body before we cut your final cloth. Every piece is custom made to your measurements, and the test garment is yours to keep.

How to Take Your Own Measurements for a Perfect Fit
All you need is a flexible measuring tape, a mirror, and ideally a friend to help with the shoulder and back measurements. Wear close-fitting clothing so the tape sits against your body, stand naturally with your weight even on both feet, and keep the tape level and snug with room for one finger. Below is every measurement we may ask for. You do not have to get each number perfect: we send a free test garment before cutting your final cloth, so the fit is confirmed on your body first.
1
Bust circumference
Stand straight with your arms relaxed and wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust, keeping it level and snug with room for one finger.
2

4

5

Measure around the fullest part of your upper thigh, keeping the tape snug with room for one finger.

Questions & Answers
Frequently asked questions about measuring yourself
How do I measure my bust, waist and length for a custom garment?
Use a flexible tape. For the bust, wrap it around the fullest part with the tape level. For the waist, measure the narrowest part, usually just above the belly button. For length, measure from the shoulder or natural waist down to your desired hem. Keep the tape level and snug with room for one finger, and measure over close-fitting clothing rather than bulky layers.
How do I measure my waist, hips, thighs and rise?
Measure the waist at the narrowest point, the hips around the widest part of your hips and seat, and the thigh around the fullest part of the upper leg. For the rise, sit down and measure from the front of your natural waist, down between your legs to the seat. Keep the tape level and snug throughout.
Where can I get my measurements taken?
Any local tailor or seamstress can take your measurements in a few minutes, and many fabric or bridal shops offer measuring too. You can also measure yourself at home with a flexible tape using this guide, or have a friend help with the back and shoulder measurements. Because we send a free test garment before cutting your final cloth, the fit is confirmed on your body regardless of who takes the first measurements.
What do I need to measure myself?
Just a flexible measuring tape, a mirror, and ideally a friend to help with the shoulder and back measurements. Wear close-fitting clothing so the tape sits against your body, and stand naturally with your weight even on both feet.
How tight should the measuring tape be?
Snug but not tight. The tape should sit flat against your body with just enough room to slip one finger underneath. Pulling it too tight gives measurements that are too small, and leaving it loose makes the garment baggy.
What if my measurements are not perfect?
That is exactly why we send a free test garment. Give us your best measurements, and we build a test version in a stand-in cloth to your numbers and ship it to you. You try it on, we adjust from there, and nothing is cut in your final fabric until the fit is confirmed.

Every Women’s Version of This Coat Is a Halloween Costume. This One Is Not.
Search for a women’s Dark Knight Joker coat and here is what you will find: polyester blazers with printed linings, purple Halloween jackets, Suicide Squad accessories. Every single version marketed to women treats this as a seasonal costume. None of them are built as an actual coat. None of them are made in real leather. None of them are cut to fit a real body. They are costumes with a Joker label on them.
This is different. The same coat that exists in the men’s version — full-grain cow Nappa leather, wide peak lapels, flared five-button cuffs, triple rear vents, princess seam back — recut for a woman’s body. The princess seams are not just screen-accurate. On a women’s coat they serve a structural purpose: they shape the coat through the shoulders, define the waist, and flare through the skirt in a way that a flat-back construction never can. This coat fits. It moves. It looks like outerwear, not a costume.
And because leather is permanent — there is no pressing a leather sleeve to a better length, no steaming out a shoulder that sits wrong — we send you a free test coat in cotton before any leather is cut. You confirm every proportion on your body first. Then we build the final coat.
Cow Nappa Full-Grain Leather Princess Seam Figure-Defining Back Triple Rear Vents Free Test Coat Included Black, Dark Brown, or Lambskin
Available in Cow Nappa Black, Dark Brown Lambskin, and Black Lambskin. Choose your acetate lining from 33 colors — black is the default, the full palette is available at no extra charge.
Free Test Coat
Leather Is Permanent. The Test Coat Makes Sure It’s Right Before We Cut.
Once cow Nappa leather is cut and stitched, the coat cannot be corrected. A sleeve that lands at the wrong point on the wrist stays there. A shoulder that sits too wide stays too wide. The princess seam shaping through the back — which is what gives this coat its figure-defining silhouette — has to be correct before the leather is touched. There is no adjusting it afterward.
Before we cut your final coat, we make a complete test coat in cotton to your exact measurements and ship it to you first. Try on the full pattern — the wide peak lapels, the flared five-button cuffs, the coat length, the way the princess seams shape through the back. Tell us what needs adjusting. We correct every detail in the pattern before the cow Nappa is cut. What arrives as your final coat fits.
The test coat is yours to keep. Both the test coat and the final leather coat ship worldwide by trackable courier.
Who It’s For
This Coat Finds a Specific Woman.
The woman who looked for this coat and found only costumes
You searched for a women’s Dark Knight Joker coat. You found polyester blazers and Halloween accessories. You knew immediately that none of them were what you were looking for. You want the coat — the real leather coat, built to the right construction — cut for your body. This is it.
The serious cosplayer who wants accuracy without compromise
You know the details. Wide peak lapels. Flared five-button cuffs with spaced stance. Triple rear vents. Princess seam back. You have not been able to find a women’s version that gets all of this right in real leather. You do not want to wear the men’s cut. You want this silhouette, built for your body, in proper cow Nappa.
The fashion buyer who wants the silhouette as outerwear
You are not building a cosplay kit. You found this coat through fashion — the wide peak lapels, the dramatic mid-calf length, the flared cuffs. In black cow Nappa on a woman’s frame, with princess seams shaping the back, this coat reads as serious luxury outerwear. The character reference is optional context. The coat stands completely on its own.
The woman who wants one extraordinary leather coat, permanently
You are not buying a seasonal piece. Full-grain leather made to your measurements lasts twenty to thirty years. It improves with wear. The silhouette — dramatic, structured, unmistakable — does not date. This is the coat you buy once and keep for decades.
Three Ways to Wear It
One Coat. Three Entirely Different Registers.
Convention or cosplay — worn as the character
The screen-accurate version: black cow Nappa with black acetate lining, worn as the complete Dark Knight Joker look. The wide peak lapels, flared cuffs, and triple vents are all screen-accurate. In real leather at mid-calf length, this reads immediately as a coat, not a costume. It is the version the convention floor has never seen before.
Dressed down — as dramatic outerwear
Black leather coat over straight jeans and a simple tee or fitted rollneck. The princess seam back gives the coat enough shape to work over casual dressing. The character reference disappears entirely. What remains is a dramatic, structured long leather coat that reads as intentional and high-end. Nobody outside cosplay circles will see the reference.
Dressed up — as statement formal wear
The same coat over a dress or tailored trousers. The wide peak lapels give it the same formal authority as a blazer, but with the drama of a mid-calf leather coat. Dark Brown Lambskin reads as fashion outerwear rather than character coat at a formal event, if you prefer the reference to be subtle. The construction quality holds in either context.

FAQ
Common Questions
Why are there so few good women’s versions of this coat?
Because the market treats the women’s buyer as a Halloween shopper. Every major retailer — Amazon, Spirit Halloween, costume shops — sells a polyester blazer or printed jacket and calls it a Joker coat. Nobody has built the women’s version as actual outerwear in real leather with proper construction. That is the gap this coat occupies. The Dark Knight Joker coat is a serious garment. The women’s version should be too.
What do the princess seams do that a standard back construction does not?
Princess seams run vertically through the back from shoulder to hem, allowing the coat to be shaped at the waist and flared through the skirt. On a women’s coat this creates a figure-defining silhouette — structured at the shoulders, fitted through the torso, dramatic through the lower half. A flat-back construction with side seams only hangs straight from the shoulders and adds bulk rather than shape. The princess seams are what make this coat look like it was made for the person wearing it.
Why does the test coat matter so much for leather?
Because leather cannot be corrected after cutting. A sleeve that lands at the wrong point on the wrist is permanent. A shoulder that sits too wide is permanent. With wool you can press and adjust. With leather, what is cut is what you wear. The test coat in cotton lets you check every element of the fit — including how the princess seams shape through the back — before any leather is touched. It is not optional for this garment.
Can this be worn outside of cosplay contexts?
Yes, and many customers order it specifically for that purpose. In black cow Nappa with the princess seam back and wide peak lapels, this coat reads as dramatic luxury outerwear to anyone who does not know the film reference. In Dark Brown Lambskin it reads as fashion outerwear with no character context at all. Several customers order it purely as a statement leather coat. The Joker silhouette is the design. The reference is optional.
What is the difference between Cow Nappa and Lambskin for this coat?
Cow Nappa is firmer and heavier — it holds the wide peak lapels and flared cuffs in shape without internal support, and gives the coat significant presence. Lambskin is softer and lighter — the coat drapes more and feels more relaxed. Both are full-grain genuine leather, not bonded or synthetic. Cow Nappa Black is screen-accurate and the stronger choice for cosplay accuracy. Lambskin works better if you want a softer, more wearable everyday coat.
Can I specify a coat length shorter or longer than mid-calf?
Yes. Note your preferred coat length at checkout. The test coat process also gives you the opportunity to check the length on your actual frame before any leather is cut — if it needs adjusting, we correct it before final production.
How long does production take?
Allow 3-4 weeks from test coat approval to delivery of your final leather coat. This covers producing the test coat, shipping it to you, reviewing your feedback, and producing the final coat. Both ship worldwide by trackable courier.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship worldwide by trackable courier. Both the test coat and the final leather coat go to your address regardless of location.

Women’s Outerwear Fit Guide
A Coat Made to Fit You, and Everything You Wear Under It
A coat is a bigger commitment than most garments, you wear it over everything, everyone sees it, and it usually costs more, so it is natural to feel more nervous ordering one made to your measurements. The most common fear is simple: will it be roomy enough over a jumper, but still shaped and not a sack? With a made-to-measure coat you do not have to choose. There are no standard sizes, we cut it to your measurements with the right ease built in for layering, and a free test garment confirms the fit, over your usual layers, before your final cloth is cut. This page answers the worries that come with buying a coat you cannot try on yet.
How It Should Sit
The fit checkpoints, so you know what “right” looks like
Room for layers
A coat is cut with more ease than a jacket so it closes comfortably over a jumper or blazer without straining, while still keeping a shaped, tailored line rather than hanging like a box.
Shoulders
The shoulder seam sits at or just past the edge of your shoulder to allow for layers underneath, with no pulling. This is cut precisely to you.
Length
Your choice, from a cropped or mid-thigh cut to a full-length coat, drafted to your height so the proportion is right for your frame.
Sleeves
Cut a touch longer than a jacket so they cover your wrist and a shirt or jumper cuff, and sit correctly when your arms are down.
Every coat is made to your measurements with the ease built in for layering, in the length and fit you choose. A free test garment lets you confirm the fit over your usual layers before your final cloth is cut, and it is yours to keep.
Your Worries, Answered
The doubts most women have, and why you can relax
I am worried a custom-made coat will be too tight over my jumpers.
This is the most common coat worry, and it is exactly what we plan for. A coat is cut with more ease than a jacket precisely so it closes comfortably over your layers, and when you try the free test garment we ask you to put it on over the jumper or blazer you would normally wear underneath. If it feels at all snug, we add room before the final cloth is cut, so the finished coat is never tight over your usual layers.
A coat is a big spend. What if it arrives and it is wrong?
Nothing final, and nothing costly, is cut until you have approved the fit on the free test garment. You are not gambling a large sum on a coat you have never seen on your body; you are confirming the fit on a test version first, over your layers, and only then do we cut the real cloth. That is the whole point of the process, to take the risk out of the biggest, most visible piece in your wardrobe.
I have never been able to find a coat that fits my shoulders and my shape at once.
That is precisely who custom-made is for. Off-the-rack coats are cut to an average frame, so if your shoulders, bust, or height are not average, something is always wrong. We cut the shoulders, body, and length to your own measurements, so the coat fits your frame rather than a size, and the test garment confirms it before we commit to the final cloth.
I am nervous about measuring myself for something this important.
You do not need to get it perfect. Our guide takes you through each measurement, a friend or a local tailor can help, and you measure over light clothing so we can allow for layers ourselves. The free test garment is there to catch anything that is slightly off, we see the coat on your body and adjust, so a first-try measurement is completely fine.
How do I choose the right length without seeing it on?
Tell us the look you want, cropped, mid-thigh, knee, or full-length, and we draft it to your height so the proportion suits your frame. If you are unsure, a length that ends around the mid-thigh or knee flatters most people. The test garment then lets you see the length on your body and change it before the final coat is cut, so you are never guessing.
Will a fitted coat still look shaped, or will it end up boxy to fit the layers?
It stays shaped. We build in enough room for layers while still cutting a waist and a clean line, so the coat reads as tailored, not as a box. You choose how close or relaxed you want it, and the test garment lets you confirm that balance of room and shape on your own body.
What if my size changes, or I want to wear it over heavier layers in future?
Coats carry generous seam allowances, so a local tailor can adjust the body within reason if your shape changes. And because we cut with layering in mind and keep your measurements on record, you can tell us up front if you plan to wear it over heavy knits, and we allow for it.
The whole custom process feels intimidating. What actually happens?
It is simpler than it sounds. You choose the coat, cloth, and length and send your measurements; we make a free test garment and post it to you; you try it on over your layers and send notes and photos; we adjust and then cut and hand-tailor your final coat; and it ships to you with tracking. At no point are you committing to a finished coat you have not already seen fit on your body.
