Most “Silk” Sold Online Is Polyester With a Shiny Finish. Ours Is Real.
Search for a silk suit or a silk shirt and you will find hundreds of them between $20 and $80. Almost none of them are silk. They are polyester woven in a satin weave to mimic the sheen, and they give the game away the moment you wear them: they trap heat, build static, and read synthetic under any real light. Real silk does the opposite. It carries a soft, natural luster rather than a plastic shine, it breathes and regulates temperature because it is a protein fiber, and it drapes in a way no synthetic can copy.

For the tailored pieces, before any silk is cut we build a test garment in cotton to your measurements and ship it to your home by trackable courier. Accessories go straight into production.

You confirm the fit at home
Try it on and check the shoulders, chest, and length, then send your notes. Nothing is cut in your final silk until the fit is confirmed on your body.

We cut your silk
Every adjustment is applied, then your piece is cut and hand-finished in genuine silk, on a canvas front for the jackets and suits, with hand-stitched detail throughout.

It ships worldwide with tracking
Your finished silk ships from Dubai by trackable courier, about four to six weeks from measurement confirmation for tailored pieces including the test-garment stage. The test garment is yours to keep.

## Questions & Answers

**Q:** Is this real silk or polyester?  
**A:** Every garment here is genuine silk, never polyester. The suits and trousers are 100% dupioni silk, the blazers and shirts come in raw silk and 100% satin silk, the Nehru jacket is noil silk, and the ties, pocket squares, and scarves are 100% satin silk. Most items sold online as “silk” for $20 to $80 are polyester woven in a satin weave to imitate the sheen. Ours are natural silk fiber, which is why they carry a soft luster rather than a plastic shine, breathe against the skin, and drape the way silk should.

**Q:** What is the difference between dupioni, raw, and satin silk?  
**A:** Dupioni silk is crisp with a subtle, irregular slub texture and a soft luster; it holds structure well, which makes it ideal for suits and trousers. Raw silk is woven from shorter fibers and has a characterful, nubby, low-luster surface with a relaxed, textural feel, best in blazers and casual shirts. Satin silk is woven in a satin weave that produces a smooth, lustrous face, which is why it is used for the shirts, ties, pocket squares, and scarves. All three are natural silk; they simply differ in weave and character.

**Q:** Is a silk suit a good choice for a wedding?  
**A:** Yes. Dupioni silk is one of the most popular fabrics for formal menswear because its natural texture and soft luster photograph beautifully both indoors and outdoors, which matters enormously in wedding images. Black, ivory, navy, and burgundy are the most common wedding choices among our customers. Because each suit is made to your measurements with a free test suit first, the fit is confirmed before we cut the silk, so a groom or guest gets a photograph-ready suit with no sizing risk.

**Q:** How much does a real silk suit cost compared to off the rack?  
**A:** A genuine dupioni silk suit here is $699 for two pieces, and the silk-and-wool suit is $799. An off-the-rack “silk” suit typically runs $200 to $500 and is usually polyester or a blend, while a local bespoke tailor charges $2,000 to $5,000 for real silk made to measure. Baron sits deliberately between them: genuine 100% silk, made to your measurements, with a free test suit, at a fraction of local bespoke pricing.

**Q:** Does silk keep you cool or warm?  
**A:** Both, because natural silk is a protein fiber that regulates temperature. It breathes and feels cool in warm weather, yet it insulates and feels warm against the skin in the cold, which is exactly why a silk shirt or scarf is comfortable across seasons. Polyester satin does neither; it traps heat and builds static. This temperature regulation is one of the clearest practical differences between real silk and the synthetic imitation.

**Q:** Are these garments made to my measurements or standard sizes?  
**A:** The tailored pieces, the suits, blazers, shirts, trousers, and the Nehru jacket, are all made to your measurements with no standard sizes. You enter your measurements on the product page, and before we cut your final silk we send a free test garment in cotton so the fit is confirmed on your body first. The accessories, the ties, pocket squares, and scarves, are handmade to standard proportions, with free customization of length or width available on request.

**Q:** What colors does the silk come in?  
**A:** The dupioni silk suits and trousers come in 22 colors including black, ivory, navy, burgundy, bottle green, royal gold, and silver. The satin silk shirt comes in 20 colors, the raw silk pieces in a range of vibrant hues from natural to petrol blue and hot pink, and the aviator silk scarf in over 60 colors. **Q:** Can I wear a silk shirt formally or casually?  
**A:** Both, depending on color and how you style it. In off-white, charcoal, navy, or black, a satin silk shirt worn under a suit or tuxedo reads formal and refined, and pairs cleanly with a Baron tuxedo. In blood red, royal purple, or sage green worn with dark trousers and no tie, the same shirt becomes a statement piece for an evening event. Because it is cut to your measurements, it looks intentional in either register rather than dressed up from something casual.

**Q:** How do I care for silk?  
**A:** The suits, blazers, shirts, trousers, and Nehru jacket are dry clean only, which protects the fiber, the color, and the drape. The satin silk accessories can be dry cleaned or gently hand washed in cold water with a mild silk-friendly detergent, then air dried in the shade. Iron silk on low heat, ideally on the reverse side or with a pressing cloth, and never with high direct heat. Cared for correctly, natural silk keeps its luster and hand for years.

**Q:** Does silk wrinkle easily?  
**A:** Silk relaxes rather than holding hard creases, and the woven silks here, dupioni and raw silk, are more forgiving than fine charmeuse. **Q:** How long does a silk garment take, and do you ship worldwide?  
**A:** Tailored pieces take about four to six weeks from the point your measurements are confirmed, which includes the free test-garment stage; accessories ship sooner. We ship worldwide from Dubai by trackable courier. For a wedding or event, order at least 8 to 10 weeks ahead so there is comfortable time for the test garment and any adjustments, or contact us before ordering and we will tell you honestly whether a tighter timeline can work.
