# How It Works — Ordering Process

A bespoke order at Baron Boutique follows a defined, step-by-step process. Total time from confirmed order to receiving the final garment is typically 8–10 weeks.

## Steps

1. **Browse and select.** Choose from product categories on baronboutique.com — Menswear, Womenswear, Screen Inspired, or Cashmere.
2. **Customize.** Select fabric, lining, and style options where available. Add to cart.
3. **Enter measurements.** In the cart, use the Add Measurements tab to enter body measurements manually or select from predefined sizes with adjustments. A comment box accepts special tailoring instructions.
4. **Checkout.** Available as a guest or with a registered account. Registered accounts save measurement history for future orders.
5. **Pay.** Full payment in advance via PayPal. No PayPal account required — direct card payment available. See [Payment Policy](https://baronboutique.com/okf/policies/payment-policy.md).
6. **Pattern drafting.** Baron Boutique tailors draft an individual pattern from the submitted measurements, informed by 25+ years of tailoring data.
7. **Test garment production and shipping.** A cotton test garment (toile / fitting garment) is made and shipped. Production: ~21 business days. Shipping: 4–9 business days worldwide.
8. **Customer fitting and feedback.** Customer tries on the test garment, takes clear photos (front, back, two sides), and emails photos and written feedback to customerservice@baronboutique.com. The test garment belongs to the customer and does not need to be returned.
9. **Pattern adjustment.** Baron Boutique adjusts the pattern based on feedback. A second test garment may be sent if needed.
10. **Final garment production.** Final garment produced in the selected fabric (~21 business days) and shipped (4–9 business days) after feedback is received.
11. **Alteration reimbursement.** If minor local adjustments are needed after delivery, the customer may visit a local tailor and claim reimbursement from Baron Boutique up to defined limits. The measurement pattern is updated for future orders.

## Timeline Summary

| Stage | Duration |

Rush service is available upon request at no additional cost, subject to production capacity.

## Questions & Answers

**Q:** Is the test garment free?
**A:** Yes. The test garment is included with every bespoke tailored order at no extra charge. It is made in cotton, shipped to you, and is yours to keep.

**Q:** What if the test garment doesn't fit properly?
**A:** That is exactly what the test garment is for. Try it on, photograph yourself from the front, back, and sides, and email the photos to us with your feedback. Our tailors will correct the pattern before making your final garment. Minor fit issues at this stage are normal and expected.

**Q:** Can I skip the test garment and go straight to the final garment?
**A:** We strongly advise against it. The test garment is how we guarantee your fit. Without it, we cannot correct any measurement discrepancies before cutting your final fabric. The two-stage process exists to protect you.

**Q:** What measurements do I need to provide?
**A:** The measurements required depend on the garment. A full suit requires jacket and trouser measurements including chest, waist, hips, shoulders, sleeve length, trouser length, and rise. A measuring guide is available on every product page with step-by-step instructions for taking each measurement accurately.

**Q:** How do I send my test garment photos and feedback?
**A:** After trying on the test garment, have someone take clear photos of you from the front, back, and both sides for each garment. Email the photos along with your written feedback to customerservice@baronboutique.com. The more specific your feedback, the more precisely we can adjust the final garment.

**Q:** Can I change my order after placing it?
**A:** Changes may be possible before production begins. Contact us as soon as possible at customerservice@baronboutique.com. Once fabric sourcing or production has started, changes may not be possible.

**Q:** I don't have a PayPal account. Can I still pay?
**A:** Yes. At checkout, select the card payment option through PayPal and enter your debit or credit card details directly. No PayPal account is required at any point. See our Payment Policy for full details.

**Q:** How long does the whole process take from order to final garment?
**A:** The full process involves two stages. Your test garment takes approximately 4 weeks (21 business days production + shipping). After you send your feedback, the final garment takes another 4 weeks. Total time from order to final delivery is typically 8 to 10 weeks for most customers.

**Q:** Do cashmere scarves and accessories go through the same process?
**A:** No. Scarves, shawls, wraps, and non-tailored accessories do not require measurements or a test garment. You simply add them to your cart, pay, and they are made to order and shipped within 12–14 business days. Accessories ship free worldwide.

**Q:** If I order again in the future, do I need another test garment?
**A:** If your measurements haven't changed, your saved pattern means subsequent orders can often skip the test garment stage or require only minor adjustments. We keep your pattern on file and update it with any corrections from your previous order.

**Q:** What if the final garment still needs alterations?
**A:** All garments are made with extra seam allowances for this reason. If minor local alterations are needed after the final garment arrives, we reimburse reasonable local tailoring costs. Contact us with photos and your receipts. See our Alteration and Refund Policy for full details.
